Southwark Council Youth Survey

I am writing to let you know about a borough wide youth provision review that Southwark Council is currently undertaking and to ask for your support with this.

The Council is currently reviewing their youth provision for young people aged 10 – 19 years old (or up to 25 if SEN). As part of this review it is crucial that we hear the views of young people and their parents/carers. One of the ways we would like to collect these views is through a short online survey.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could please share the below link with your year six pupils only and give them time to complete the survey during the school day. This should take no longer than 5 – 10 minutes to complete. The survey could be completed, for example, in form time, in an IT lesson or another time you feel is appropriate. The survey can be completed easily on a mobile, iPad, laptop or computer.

Young people’s views are absolutely vital in helping us to provide better services and activities for young people to enjoy so please ensure your pupils complete this.

Please also circulate this link via your parent’s network. It is really important to hear from parents/carers too as they play a major role in deciding what activities their child /children take part in. We want to hear from parents/carers about the types of activities they would like to see offered in the borough for their child/children.

The survey will remain live from Monday 24th February until Sunday 8th March.

The online survey is part of a wider piece of work that is being undertaken by Southwark Council. A number of workshops have taken place to gather views from young people, council officers and key partner agencies and a number of young people have been trained up to undertake fieldwork where they have conducted interviews with other young people. All of this information, including the online survey, will help us ensure the youth service is meeting the needs of young people.
